Culture Ireland generously supported the ISACS Network in 2018 to bring three of our members, Loosysmokes, Tom Campbell and Fanzini, to present their work in Fossano & Busca, Italy within Mirabilia - International Circus and Performing Arts Festival programme from 22nd June to 26th June 2018.
During the festival, the artists had the opportunity to premiere their work in Italy to a public audience of over 1120 attendees, see 238 inspirational shows and interact with the diverse creative professionals throughout the festival.
This focus was made possible through ISACS Networks ongoing international work, inviting promoters to see work in Ireland through Culture Ireland's SeeHere programme and the support of our international partnerships and work through the Circostrada Network by Arts Council Ireland. These efforts offer fruitful new international opportunities for Irish artists, broadening the sector and its artists, delivering new experiences and learning, building confidence, increasing profiles and gaining greater recognition of their work internationally. Loosysmokes’ premiere of their show this year, followed a residency to create a site-specific piece offered during the 2017 Mirabilia supported by the mentorship of the ISACS Network. Tom Campbell’s work was selected for the Focus after he met Mirabilia festival director Fabrizio Gustavo at Spraoi festival in 2017, through the SeeHere programme scheme. In 2019, Tom Campbell will return to the festival once more for an extended residency and development programme with the local community. While Fanzini came in as a wild card animating the streets of Busca and building on his extensive international expertise.
Many thanks to Culture Ireland for supporting ISACS artists Loosysmokes, Tom Campbell and Fanzini, who took part in the FocusIrlanda (Irish Focus) at Mirabilia Festival and Arts Council Ireland for their continuous support of our work as a development agency expanding horizons and opening doors for artists across Ireland and into the beyond.
