L.E.A.P trainees in 2019

As part of the professional training programme L.E.A.P. (Learn, Experience, Achieve, Prepare) of
the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network, we are delighted to welcome two new trainees for 2019:  Marie Semichon, Sara Galleti and Cyrille Roussial.

Marie Semichon

Communications & Event Coordinator assistant

May - June 2019

"Hi, my name is Marie, I'm 23. I come from Nantes in France, where I study the international management at ENC School (Ecole Nantaise de Commerce) in Nantes in France. I am coming to Wexford to do my 7 weeks internship in the L.E.A.P Programme with ISACS Network. I am here to learn a little more about communication and event management and help Lucy prepare FRESH STREET #3 in Galway. This internship will allow me to discover a little more about street art, circus and spectacle in Ireland."

Sara Galletti

Communications & Event Coordinator assistant
March - June 2019

"I come from Italy and I have been living in Ireland for many years now.
Besides my career in the International Education Project Management, Language Teaching and Researching in Social Inclusion, I approached in the last few years circus arts, and discovered their positive social impact on integration and inclusion, across various contexts. I started training in Youth Circus and Social Circus Teaching in Italy with AltroCirco, focusing my Research on the use of circus arts as a tool to enhance social inclusion, mainly in multicultural and diverse linguistic contexts.
I am now training in various social and youth circus projects in Ireland, and I decided to join ISACS to gain expertise in Street and Circus Arts Project Management and Research, and learn how to apply it at a national and international level."

Sara will be supported through the Erasmus Young Entrepreneurs Programme: “
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange programme which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other Participating Countries. The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the experienced entrepreneur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills needed to run a small firm. The host benefits from fresh perspectives on his/her business and gets the opportunities to cooperate with foreign partners or learn about new market”1

Cyrille Roussial

Research & Information Assistant
March - June 2019

"I just arrived from France to begin my internship in Wexford. My role will be to initiate, gather and distribute information and research on the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle sector. I am looking forward to the opportunity to help Lucy and Alonso organising the next FRESH STREET #3 in Galway.
As a juggler, I have been involved in the world of juggling conventions for ten years, while I was a student at the ENS Lyons in Performing and Theatre Studies, which opened another door for me to access the wider performance sector. I learned about writing and critical aspects of shows, particularly circus work. After an internship where I was responsible for the documentation at the Fratellini Academy, and then a mission at the Ministry of Culture in France, my role included developing an inventory of circus activity in Ile-de-France region, completed by a roadmap for the sector players. I will finish my studies with the discovery of something totally new for me here in Ireland, before beginning a thesis on the art of juggling.
This three months’ internship is the occasion for me, to discover Irish circus and street arts companies and places, meet new people and be inspired by new creations."

If you are interested in finding out more or participating in the L.E.A.P. Programme with ISACS, please email info@isacs.ie with a CV and a letter of motivation. Please note these are voluntary roles. Grant possibility for international applicants under Erasmus scheme.
