Introducing Circomara, an Irish based circus company specialising in Acrobatics and Physical Comedy, who sailed all the way down from Sweden to Dublin in 2013. Since then, Circomara has become a renowned company in the Irish Circus and Street Arts scene and wowed audiences at the famous Spraoi Waterford festival as one of the New Emerging Street Talents in 2015, Dublin Fringe with the 'Way of the Coconut' held on their 27ft sailing circus boat the 'Tintomara', and many more. Circomara tour all over the world with award-winning companies such as Tumble Circus and Fanzini Productions. They work with Clowns Without Borders and other programmes bringing Circus to the Middle East such as Taking Flight in Gaza with the support of Culture Ireland. Circomara is also one of the founding member of Irish Acro, the Irish Acrobalance Convention happening this May! We've interviewed Henrik Gard to get to know the company better and learn all about his aspirations for the future.

Introducing Tumble Circus, a modern circus company, based in Belfast. Tumble Circus team has won international multiple awards for their work. They have toured throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe, Canada and Australia. Tumble Circus provides a unique experience of innovative and contemporary Irish circus, specialising in high skill circus – theatre – comedy (indoors and outdoors). At the core of Tumble Circus is a dedication to training, learning and constantly pushing the boundaries of their own work. It is their desire and life’s work to create new and exciting circus that entertains, amazes and is accessible to all and where ordinary people do extraordinary things.

Introducing National Circus Festival of Ireland, one of the most exciting circus festival in Ireland, organised every year in Tralee, Kerry by Fanzini Production. The festival is an opportunity to see eye-popping international shows, be sore from laughing at the absurd, meet fellow circus artists and professionals, and in awe of feats of incredible circus skills during four days of workshops, performances, talks culminating with a circus parade and outdoors show. National Circus Festival of Ireland is celebrating its 16th edition in 2017. Since ISACS formation in 2011, we have partnered together on numerous projects the most notable of which is our Share Open Forum. NCFI are also one of our core partners for the DELVE programme hosting two ISACS members on a special Go see initiative that we have created.

We got the chance to interview artist director Con Hogan on the festival and his views on the sector. Read on to discover his thoughts and learn a great deal about being a circus artist and director.
