Participants announced for Cork Midsummer Festival DELVE17 & StillPoint Workshop!
ISACS is delighted to have partnered up with Cork Midsummer Festival to offer the opportunity to some of our members to attend a series of training programmes and events. The festival taking place this 16 - 25 June promises to be an amazing experience for its attendees with an 11 days of events across all art forms! Congrats to our member Macha Shewolf who will be attend the very special 4 days Stillpoint Workshop with Street Arts legends Sue Gill and John Fox from 12-15 June and Sandra González Bandera and
David Spathaky who will be taking part in #DELVE17 programme at Cork Midsummer Festival from 16th - 18th June.

Our 2 delvers will be attending the events and sharing their experiences and learning’s with you. To benefit full of the experience their first meal, transport, accommodation will be taken care of by the festival and ISACS.

What's on at Cork Midsummer Festival 2017 ?



Cork Midsummer Festival
is an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival that uses the city as its backdrop and inspiration. It provides high-quality arts events, both national and international, for audiences of all ages. Its programme provides opportunities for significant public participation and engagement, supports the development of emerging artists across all artforms, and provides a unique platform for work by local and national artists.

Cork Midsummer Festival will be storming Cork from the 16th - 25th JUNE 2017 with an exciting 11 days programme of Dance, Theatre, Music, Live Performance, Circus, Talks, Workshops and much more!

Presenting Macha - workshop participant

Macha -Shewolf
Macha is Soul Voice Singer, Dance Artist, Tribal Fusion Bellydancer part of the Dance Performance Troupe Anima. She is also a Circus artist and performs as fire performer, hula hooper and clown. She coaches and teaches Tribal Fusion Dance & Hula Hoop & Equine Vaulting in Cork.

She will take part in a four days intensive StillPoint Workshop at Cork Midsummer Festival to add to a great street arts skills array.

Who are the Delvers?

Dave Spathaky of Aerofisher

Dave Spathaky is a theatre and circus director, comedy performer (resting), world record platespinner and define himself as a 'harsh critic' which promises to make for an in-depth feedback on the Delve events!

He has been involved in the circus, live performance, physical theatre, street arts and acting sector for many years and is one of the founder of AAPRDC '
The Astounding & Astonishing Performance Research & Development Company' working in the area of live performance and also a guest author in the Circus Diaries.

Sandra González Bandera of Kadira Theatre

Sandra is a Physical Theatre Performer Puppeteer and Theatre Maker currently based in Galway.

She is the founder of Kadira Theatre, a Children's Theatre Company which main goal is to create high quality theatrical experience for young audience. Sandra believes the uses of multidisciplinary in her work combining physical theatre, use of masks, puppetry, dance, visual arts and live music and the fusion of art forms speaks to wider and more varied audiences and allow her to develop and create a new and innovative theatrical experience for young audiences.

So we're definitively looking forward to hearing her thoughts on Blurring the Lines: the Rise of interdisciplinary arts!

What's the DELVE programme?

DELVE is a GO-SEE professional development programme supported by Arts Council Ireland, launched in 2016, to support ISACS members to get out, see and learn about street, circus and performance arts happening all around Ireland. The programme involves going to various festivals, seeing and observing work from the street, circus and spectacle sectors, meeting the artists, the crew and discovering new ideas, inspiration and delving into these art forms with fresh eyes! 

The aim of DELVE is to encourage dialogue and discussion around a variety of arts forms in Ireland, and to offer critical discussion and analysis and dynamic practices. Participants are encouraged to submit feedback from the events which can be read on our website here


This year ISACS have partnered with Dublin Dance Fest – 18 – 28th May, Cork Midsummer – 16 –18th June, Waterford Spraoi – 4- 6th August, NCFI, Tralee – 10 – 12th November.
