Beginners - An introduction to the basic vocabulary of corde lisse. Suitable for people who have never done corde lisse before

Intermediate - Expanding upon the basic vocabulary, introducing positions that are harder to reach, dynamic moves, drops and slides, and a variety of climbs.

Advanced - Beats, tempos and strength. A range of techniques to push your practise and broaden what’s possible on a rope for you. This course will also introduce some doubles work.

Lyn Routledge has been a professional aerialist for over 12 years. She has performed worldwide in traditional and contemporary circus, theatres, festivals, nightclubs, corporate events and TV. Lyn spent four years touring nationally and internationally with NoFit State Circus’s groundbreaking show ‘Immortal’, directed by Firenza Guidi. In 2008 she received funding form the Arts Council of Wales to work with Gareth Bailey developing the art form of doubles rope. This work was showcased at the Glastonbury Festival 2009. Lyn first appeared as Spirit of the Vixen at the Royal Opera House in 2003 and is delighted to be reprising this role. She is also a rigger, choreographer and teacher of aerial skills. Currently based at NoFit State’s training space in Cardiff, Lyn was described in The Stage as “a dangerous woman to know”.

Gareth Bailey has been working as a professional aerialist for over twelve years. He currently resides in Bristol where he teaches on Circomedias full time degree program.

As a performer he has toured both nationally and internationally, credits include the Royal Variety show, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian games in Doha, and performing Doublers cord lisse with Lyn Routledge at the Roundhouse.

As well as teaching for Circomedia, Gareth has taught cord lisse at the Tyuan circus school in China, circus space in London, and he also teaches on the degree program for Cirque Cikor in Sweden.
